This year’s series continues with Pete “Big Dog” Fetters performing real New Orleans-style jazz. Pete is a full time professional singer/songwriter/performer. He is based in Wyandotte Michigan and travels the Midwest, East and Southeast US performing for audiences of all ages in different genres of music. His musical career has been grounded in Blues/Rock and Americana. Pete’s strengths are his excellent voice, great harmonica and slide guitar playing, along with outstanding song writing. Born in northern Indiana and reared in Michigan, Pete began playing guitar when he was 13. The harmonica came along a few years later. Singing was his first love and Pete was a prominent soloist in his church choir at the age of 10. While living in Nashville TN from 1985-1993 Pete worked at the craft of songwriting and was able to spend time learning from some great songwriters. His song ‘Midnight Walkin’ Blues’ was featured in the 2007 PBS series ROAD TRIP NATION. Two other songs were chosen for the Shady O’Grady video game, RISING STAR. Pete started his own record label in the mid 90’s and has recorded nine CDs in the past 13 years. His latest CD is ‘Live At New Center Park,’ a live recording of a show from 2013 at New Center Park in Detroit. In 2006 Pete won the Detroit Blues Challenge and represented the City of Detroit at The International Blues Challenge held in Memphis, TN.
