MCACA Mini grant Workshop – June 14th

The Arts Alliance will be hosting a free, open workshop at The Howell Opera House to walk interested parties through grant writing basics to aid in attaining programming and professional development funds through mini-grants offered by The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA). This workshop will answer frequently asked questions and help clarify the processes in writing the 2018 MCACA mini-grant applications. These grants are for Arts Projects or Professional Development (see details below), available to Michigan nonprofit organizations, schools, and municipalities in Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, and Washtenaw counties.

Arts Projects Mini grants

  • Deadline to apply: August 3, 2017
  • Project must take place between 10/1/2017 – 9/30/2018
  • Arts Projects Minigrants provide up to $4,000 for locally developed, high quality arts and cultural projects

Professional or Organizational Development Mini grants

  • Deadline to apply: August 3, 2017
  • Development opportunity must take place between 10/1/2017 – 9/30/2018.
  • Professional or organizational development mini grants provide up to $1,500 to enable nonprofit organizations and arts professionals to acquire services or skills to strengthen the administrative infrastructure of the organization
